Default Challenge 7 - Clément Sauvé Tribute Challenge

Hi all,

We have a quite special micro challenge this time, a tribute to the art of Clément Sauvé.
We would like to allow 4 weeks for this challenge so our current deadline will be the 17th of March 2011 at 9pm NZ time.
Check out what time it will be in your city here

Please post all wips in this thread, and add a subject title to your final entry post (something like "Final entry - username").
Also please include the artwork you've used in your final post if you decided to follow a specific one.

There will be a front page plug and micro challenge award for the winner, 2nd and 3rd place will also get a micro challenge award.

Here are Rodrigue's instructions:

This past January, artist Clément Sauvé passed away after a long battle with cancer, at the age of 33. Clément worked for DC Comics on such projects as 'JLA Secret Files', 'Stormwatch' and 'The Human Defense Corps'.
Additionally he lent his talents to the 'Voltron', 'GI Joe/Transformers' and 'Infantry' for Devil’s Due Publishing.
Most recently, Sauvé redesigned many characters for the movie 'G.I. Joe Renegades' and created amazing character concepts for the EA's 'Army Of Two: 40th day'.

Best known for his distinctive graphic style, Sauvé characters jumped off the page with big bold shapes, exaggerated proportions, and tons of personality and attitude.

If you'd haven't seen his work before, please visit:

We invite all of you to join us in celebrating the life and work of this fantastic artist. The goal of this micro challenge is to make a character in Clement's Style. You are welcome to adapt one of his existing drawings, or create your own character. Your primary objective is to recreate Clement's style as closely as possible.

The winner will get a front page plug and micro challenge award.

Accepted Categories: 3D : using any 3d packages.
2D : using any painting applications.

Judges:

Pascal Raimbault: Lead modeler at Weta Digital
Paul Richards : Senior concept artist at Blizzard
Rodrigue Pralier : Principal character artist on Mass Effect
Ben Huen : Senior concept artist on Mass Effect
Kolby Jukes : Principal character artist on Mass Effect

We would like to give a big thanks to Pascal for letting us doing this challenge on CGfeedback.

I can already imagine a bunch of them in 3D, especially the AO2 concepts are just plain awesome.
Would be an awesome modeling exercise, just hope I can make it fit with everything else.
