Default First contact /maurodelia

Hi there !
i decide to give a go to this chalenge. Will try my best.

I'm still thinking in some ideais, trying to figure out the final image.
Meanwhile i started to design the alien itself.
I took advantage of the holydays, where i got a little break from work.
Here is the inicial concept ( done in polypaint in a plane in zbrush)

After that initial sketch, i did other, but now in paper ( so i nedd to scan it), but, after that i went to zbrush and with zsphere i modeled a bust. And them to photoshop to a very fast sketch to see his whole body, and some acessories that it might have.

One idea that i was thinking is something like: "the first contact may be the last" . And that is the alien walking in a wasted land steping in a human skull or picking up a dirt and destroyed doll.
Another image coold be the alien in a tube fill with liquid, and some woman/man that are responsible for cleaning the place, come face to face to the alien in the tube ( the scientist left the door open). This would be a more funny picture.
Another ideia is a alien reaching earth in halloween, so nobody in the party care for him, because they think that he is a men in costume. Another funny one. But that would be to demanding to pull of in 3d. Especialy that i'm more of modeler/texturer, and not render and lightining.

Well, for now is that.
Any critcs are welcome. (even for my english)
Thanks

Next i will do the arm base, and them sculpt the body/arm.
And still thinking in a simple to do idea ( because of my limited time )

quick ideia- a closeup of a humam nasa helmet and, you dont'see the human head, but you see the alien reflected in the glass. What do you think ?

I like your alien desisgn very much! and yeah the helmet is a good idea although it will distort most of your work on the alien.
Great work so far

Default small update

Hi again, just a small update, i create a basemesh for his upper arm, with zsphere in zbrush ( with some tweeks, moving and pushing here and there.
I was planing to do more on saturday, but i just bought a lord of the rings 12 dvds ( its new in Brazil, maybe old for you guys), and so there goes a couple of hours waching making of

Anyway, i forgot to explain the arms of the alien, the upper arm, are more for brute force, with only 2 fingers he can only do simple manipulation. But they are strong. The belly arms are much more weak but can do complex manipulations like bulding eletronic stuff. When they were primitives, they use that belly arms to comb mud to find food.
Speaking of food, this alien don't chew fod, they filter mud with that many plates in his neck/mouth. The residues are expelled by little holes just behind the plates.

well, here are the images

Cool stuff, I like the colors, I would have the back of the head pink if it's supposed to be softer tissues.I think it's just a matter of defining where the more rigid plates and soft tissues are in the model and then follow them in the color
Nice work so far!
