Default Crossing the uncanny valley WIP



i started to work on this project almost a year ago in my spare time.
and i taught i should also share my progress on these great forums

once the model is finished, textured shadered, im planing to do a photoreal facial mocap performance. fingers crossed

so here goes :

thats is definitely nice...like you say it helps not only to break up the silhouette but also add detail to the skin with the subtle shading. I did the same on my self portrait although I still havent rendered it yet.

well my experience had been great. although the newest 123d catch version isnt so great, much slower and much more buggy than the beta. but still cool and extremely helpful app especially for environment artists

ive finished the 32bit displacement map


the details were extracted from some of the scans ive made,
the neck details are extracted from the awesome bust made by lee perry smith. so credit to him

makes the model look much more natural and organic


next up, normal map
