We recently had to do some concept work in Zbrush for a client. Several designs were discarded in favor of other directions, and we're allowed to post the unused designs.

I admit to being pretty new to anatomical work, and I also admit to being an obvious gamer and Gears of War fan. So perhaps it's no surprise that my first submission for C&C here looks the way it does.

Comments and Critiques on this?

(Et bonjour à tous les francophones! Ça fait du plaisir, quand même!)

Say, how do I add thumbnails for the thread list?

(Sorry, new guy alert!)

Hey Welcome to cgfeedback El Burritoh :welcome:

Cool concept, I am having a hard time understanding what is bone or muscle. Some of the neck muscles for example look more like bones, and I would say it feels a bit too lumpy overall.
Nice first post, keep them comin!
Bienvenue l'ami :)

That's a good point about the difference between bone and muscle. The character is supposed to be old and kind of a fusion between hard and soft tissue.

That said, you're absolutely right that it should be easier to tell what is what. Otherwise the identity of the character is a little muddled.

The lumpiness on the side of the head behind the temple is the part that I would probably redo first.

I need so much practice with organic material! I tend to prefer hard-surface objects. Thanks for your input!
