Hello,
I've got some spare time during my holidays (just a few hours :p) so I decided to start a new character. This is the concept:
3083
It's not my work, it's a pic I found somewhere long time ago, saved in my "nice ideas for characters" folder, then forgot about it...

So here we are with my work so far:
3084
3085
3086
The base mesh is done, now it's time to add the magic in zbrush. Hopefully this time the loops will be better than the one I had with my previous work :D
C&C are more than welcome, better fix eventual issues now than later!

Great character choice.
The thing that sticks out to me like a sore thumb are the six and seven sided poles around the eye loop, these will cause nasty pinching in zbrush.
I think there's also a triangle in the mouth, zbrush can handle tri's but can sometimes cause problems.
Also keep your quads as evenly sized and proportioned as possible, avoid long, thin rectangular quads in your base mesh.

;) Nice start Ganjica, are you going to go hyper real with this or you going to keep it toon stylized like the concept? handlebar has got some good points about the basemesh, but its more than fine to get into zbrush to build that hi sculpt. Afterwards you could just retopo for a more detailed mesh and focus on such issues. Look forward to the zbrush version!

Hi guys, thanks for the replies!
@handlebar: I haven't got the model with me now so I'm not sure about the triangles but I remember I check and there were none. The poles are bad I know, specially the one that connects the eye to the nose and mouth, the quad is pretty stretched too. I'll try to fix them before going into ZB, I've got some nasty past issues with poles, thanks for reminding me!
@migusan76: Thanks! The idea is to make him realistic, pretty much like a portrait. Depends a lot how much time I can to spend on this, maybe i'll have to quit after the ZB work...

Great character :D Really looking forward to this one. Nice start on the basemesh
Edit: I would probably clean up these area, maybe like in this pic, or in a differnet way.Just try to avoid vertices sharing more than 5 edges. But if they donīt cause any troube, then well, ignore this post ;)

Depending on how realistic you want to bring it I think http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=077560 has some really great reference. Although your character seems a bit more stylized.. so up to you.
I agree with all the above comments.

Sorry guys, I've been busy lately and it's been a while since i check the forum again :(
Thanks for the replies with the hints, I really appreciate them! now I've some free time again, so this will be my hobby from now on!
@Manuel: That part nearby the nose was terrible, definitely I'm going to follow your hint! About the poles, I've got some bad experiences in the past, so I'll try to fix that as well.
@MrGuy: Thanks a lot for the link! That's a fantastic work! Damn... so close to what I had in mind that now i feel I want to change a little bit, otherwise it'll look too similar!
