mmmh no , sorry , it's the max vray , but , i've made some tests with the Vray for maya , and it works very well , so you can have the same result ,
since the maya 8 (beta-test) Vray was perfect ...
A lot's of people are waiting for the final version of maya-vray , cause we all know that maya is ... ... more ... let's say.... ...powerfull ? ... ...so ...
Don't worry , it works !

Oooh i dunno you've posted this video here too
If i knew i would not ask you with PM lol

So may be you will explain us the process in nDynamics i mean what you've used to make this effect....ncloth? and how can you make the meshes to be attracted by the goal ?

Anyway if you don't want to share that's okay
That's an awesome effect i really want to learn :)

Sorry for my very bad english

Cheers Thomas

Hi manki

Very easy in fact , no secrets , Ncloth of course , first of all ,the monster itself animated from the floor to the final position then a big mesh for the nets and some square objects for the cables ...ncloth objects ...
At this moment the monster mesh is a colider with a negative force field (that's the key : force field!!) nets and cables are attracted by the mesh by a little distance , so it's slow and progressive . At the end , all ncloth objects are around the monster and perfectly stable cause the force field is always on . Ncloth is amazing.
Then , export in max (fbx with geometry cache), opacity texture for the nets . A little rain with thinking particles (nothing special) and render with Vray.
Defocus and camera animations are done in Shake.

You see , it's easy , Try the "force field " it's very powerfull .....

Yeah i will test it as soon as i can

A force Field? :) i thought something like goalPP lol ....the final shot is the most impressive with cables attracted by the head.....very great effect

Thanx again Thomas :notWorthy:
