Hi guys, I thought I'd share my latest exercise with you. I did it for the Hardcore Modeling CHallenge - so the time was limited... it is done though and I'm not touching it again ;)... I used my own head as reference and one of my fav paintings - James Tissot's The Fireplace for the rest. I hope you like it

beautiful work:thumbsup:
How much of the details were put in the base mesh for this one? I mean did you spend more time in Zbrush on the HD model or more on the base mesh maya/3dsmax,etc... Would love to see a wireframe :sw:
cheers!

Thank you Nick and Pascal :)
Here is a wireframe for the entire project:
http://mdadela.com/ssp_director/albums/album-9/lg/fireplace_final_wireframes.jpg
all of the detailing is done in Zbrush - there is no HD sculpting involved though :) All the folds are sculpted in the dress - I did model some of the big ones in the back of the jacket, because it was too hard to get a nice wave...
The stripes are done using Zapplink. I projected them from many sides and then made an alpha and used that for the stripes.
the curls were done with Zspheres2...

yeah I had no time to render it during the competition but I might go back :) I've never used Maxwell, might have to give it a go one day :)
