Cool creature! Ground seems quite noisy, is this texture or render artifact?

I like the design, especially the body looks really good, great proportions and pose ;)
It seems like he could use a bit more work though around the mouth, can't put my finger on it but it looks a bit weird. Also, It would be cool to see some more images, but with out all the filters, backgrounds etc.
