Haha thats very cool Tomaya. Is there a cloth simulation that is then emitting particles?
Also meant to post before to say I really liked your moving block of jelly type thing :D
Tomaya
20-02-2010, 01:37 PM
hi ianucci , good question , no cloth for this test , it's a little trick in real flow ,in max (or maya or xsi or ...) : i select some faces from the body (those faces will be emitters ) , then make a copy of it , a little "push" on it in max , just to scale them a bit ... ....export in RealFlow ,the body mesh and the copy .Now , in RF , create an object emitter
and chose the "copy " BUT inverse the normals (in RF it's on the display tab )
So , the copy will create fluid towards the body (very close) the collision is a bit violent , but it works , you' ll get this sort of effect ...
I plan to create a little short with that funny (dumb) blob ....
thanks
Tom

Very, very nice indeed! Looks very convincing. I feel a couple of the blinks are a bit too rapid/flickery, so they feel less convincing and more robotic, but overall a really solid test and I can't wait to see more! Also, maybe it's the lighting that makes the neck feel too deep as Pascal brought up

Hey Tomaya, good stuff, anatomy is such a vast subject, I feel like I still have a lot to learn myself :D
I think you could soften the folds in general, the breast looks quite large, and shoulder still feels twisted, did you use any photo reference?
Keep it up :beerchug:
Tomaya
13-03-2010, 10:36 AM
thanks pascal , yes of course , i've a ref ,quite hard to find in fact in a high rez , still looking for something more interresting , i like this sort of pose a bit compressed , not very natural but with very nice movements on the bones-muscles-skin shapes . Yes , the shoulder is completely twisted , as you see on the left pic , i'll redo the initial pose again . Anatomy , fantastic subject, i like it and mudbox is really easy to use for me , the big question in fact is : references ! Just artistic nudes in high rez with the full body , i mean hands and feet , if you have some ideas ... ....
Thanks for comments
tonytrout
13-03-2010, 11:05 AM
On the shoulder, I would dump the lores model into amodelling programme, take a ring of polys out from the upper arm rotate the edges and rebridge so the geo is straightened up before going to mudbox. Sculpting stretched geo in mudbox is a frustrating experience in my opinion and I prefer to do this basic readjustment now rather than retopologising later. Just an opinion though :beerchug:
I like the adventurous pose. :thumbsup:though imho compressed figures can make it too easy to build up unwanted mass so remember to take some out as well :)

Hey Tomaya,
If you want to master the human body, you should really learn the basics first.
Keep the forms as simple as possible, break up the body into simple primitive objects. Start with a simple pose first. Compressed or stretched skin, flesh and fat is something you should think about last. Just a thought, because the pose you have choosen is really something you should not start with, when youīre starting to learn anatomy.
Tomaya
14-03-2010, 01:13 PM
ok manuel , you mean i'm going too fast for a start , i know it's stronger than me , these poses are so interresting , you're right of course about the basics ... ...let's restart from scratch ...thanks for the comments manuel:beerchug:

Personally I would start with a relaxed standing pose. I think you should get this right before even thinking about complex poses. I know itīs tempting to start right away with these beautyful poses, but if you donīt have enough knowledge about the bonestructures and muscleshapes you will hit the wall pretty soon.
Check out this website from Benjamin Leitgelb. Heīs a great sculptor, you can learn a lot just by watching his work. Nothing beats reference from life (real persons,photographs,3dscans) but also study a lot of great paintings, drawings and sculptures from the masters, because theyīve already simplified the important shapes in some way.
http://www.selwy.com/
Learning anatomy is a long journey. It can be fun and also frustrating.
But seeing your other works, Iīm sure you have enough passion for art to become good if you work hard :)
So letīs start :beerchug:

With a very thin fumefx box (nearly 2d ) the velocity of the displacement create the ink , to stop it (dry) , set the velocity drag to 0.4 ...i'll make a tuto soon ...
