I'm new here, so i'm posting my latest work to introduce myself.
Very scary showing work to so many 'big name' talented and skilled artists, but I would really appreciate comments and crits from you.

This started as a model only - but I thought I'd test my rigging and animation skills.
The video also has a breakdown of the various stages of its creation.

:welcome: here Simon! Nice vid, thanks for sharing it with us. I like your muscle rig and final animation
A few things I thought I'd mention, the proportions of the character seem a bit off to me, in regards of the weight he is carrying on his shoulders. I mean the hips could be wider like on the design, he seems a bit fragile to carry these heavy gears.
If going for a realistic render, I would add some highlights on the metals where it is supposed to be worn, it seems a bit dull overall. The skin could use some more subsurface and there is a checker pattern on the LHS shoulder piece, is this intentional? Nice texture detailing overall. The face could also use some modeling refinements around the eyes, lips and teeth, especially because your video is ending with a closeup on them.
Very cool to share your workflow in this vid, thanks for that and keep up the good work :beerchug:

I really like the overall all look, and the final animation looks really good! And I think you did some awesome work on the armor. However, I am not to found of the way you did the details of the face, it looks very rough, though the shape is great.
But keep it up man it looks great! And it was really impressive to see your process, it must have taken darn long to make all this.

PascalR - wow thanks for the feedback - I'm glad you liked it overall.
Your comment on the hips is one that I wish somebody had mentioned at the start - so obvious - but I didn't see it !

Storm - Yeah - I agree with you and Pascal about the face. I was too keen to get onto the next stage - then couldn't go back :)

Still I was a learning exercise - and I'll take your advice and encouragement to my next model.

Thanks for taking the time.

Simon.
