Hello everyone, First post here.
Been lurking abit in the shadows around here.. Extremely talanted ppl here, so not had the guts to post anything until now.. hopefully i can live up to the standards.
Wanted to try and create the comedian, by far the coolest character imho in the movie. Base modeled in Maya, Zbrush for details and rendered in 3dsmax Mental Ray.
Hope you all like it.

Great! So here are the things I'd change:
-the moustache hair flow should go down istead of groomed towards the mouth corners.
-the hair look a bit too smooth and compact. Did you use textured geo for these or a hair system?
-I would break up the specular and lower it on the body skin (head looks great), but like on the RHS biceps and fingers (look quite shiny)
-the metal shader feels a bit like plastic like on the belt buckle, it could be worth trying to lower the diffuse value. The shotgun black parts feel like rubber, could tighten the spec to help.
So to me it is just a matter of making sure your materials look different from each others (leather,metal,plastic,etc...)
Hope this helps and again nice work:beerchug:

Look really really good! Loads of great details, if I may crit just one thing however, I'd chance his expression, he looks way to sweet imo, I'd properly make his expression more insane/crazy.
But with that said, sweet work man!

Interesting character, you've captured the right feeling of Comedian :-)

Really nice model, Jukkat ! Love it ! clap The expression looks good to me, and I'm quite feeling the crazyness in his eyes.
This render looks a bit illustrative (maybe that's what you were looking for), and I agree with Pascal, as some work on the shaders would help if you're looking for more realism.
Cheers!

@PascalR
Thanks alot for taking the time and giving good feedback :)
I might just go back and do the changes as i feel you'r right.
For the hair i used Hair-farm.
@Storm
Thanks man !
That might just be me failing chosing the right angle on the camera and posing of the head.
@madmatt
Thanks ! glad you liked it.
@Addictive/LP
Thanks alot
Well i hadent realy desided on the look or anything, i kinda desided as i went along and tried my best at making every aspect.. and evedently some aspects fell between the chairs as PascalR mentioned, and i think both of you are right :) I realy should go back and make some changes.

Hello all.. again :)
Here is the revised version of the comedian. It might be hard to see any diffrence at first, but there are quite few.
Majority of the changes is in the shading and hopefully to the better, personaly i like this version better.
Ill include the old highres one and the new highres here also, as it is easyer to see the diffrence.
Hope you all like it aswell.
(just a side note: images in the first post are updated as well, same links and files)

I saw your stuff on hairFarm's gallery. Did you use the plugin? how did you think about the tool? I'd like to use the tool, if I could have chance.

Thank you

Yes, im using the hair-farm, personaly i just love it. Never realy understood the combing buisness, as an modeler i want to push and pull faces and vertexes. things one has controll over.. combing for me is just tweaking.
You have various ways to controll it, eather extruding and modeling faces from a scalp mesh or using splines to extrude along to name a few, plus you have tools to add or remove sections etc. and you can convert back and forth.. never been easyer for me anyways. Just love it.
altho best results are in scanline renderer (realy fast) so you need to comp it.. but the render layers are so easy to setup up one cant almost fail at it.
Just have a look at the forum gallery section.. there are some amazing artists making sweet looking hair !
@ jasonlin
Thanks ! and i need to thank Pascal also for that, making me go back.
Realy happy about the new mustache also :)
