Hey,

First post here. Been admiring the wonderful work here for a while though.
Kudos on this great forum!

Here is a character I have been working on for a while now. I'm hoping it to be my first character for my demoreel. It started out as a some kinda troll, but I changed his body type so many times along the way...I'm not sure what to call it anymore...damn me of not doing any concept sketches :)

His hands and feet are still a bit lame for the moment, so they definitely need more work.

I will post some more views later on at home, because I don't have access to more since I am at work.

Hoping to get some feedback from all this talent around here

Cheers all!
Jelle

Nice model! I really like the face although the body could be more extreme, longer, thinner or bigger arms, bigger belly, you know something that makes this piece stands out a bit more.
The thighs look quite flat even if there is a fat layer, I think you need to make some choices here, fat vs muscullar. Also the RHS knee shape feels a bit stertched.

Cool stuff, keep it up:thumbsup:

I agree with the thighs. This is a problem i come up against every once and a while.

You could make the belly bigger, i think its personal choice. I think you have almost nailed the oblique muscles groups for that area. Even if you do make the belly bigger little or no work would be needed to correct it. Though some rib work might be required.

I do think the body should be a little bit longer. At least the lower half. The flank pads seems very compact for a creature/humanoid of this size. Here is a before and after of a man who had them reduced.

But in terms of proportion, the legs are way to small for his body. Again if this is what your going for then, cool :).

Either way, very cool work and would love to see it develop.

hey thanks for quick and great replies guys! exactly what I am looking for :)

PascalR - thanks, glad you like it. Now you mentioned it, I totally agree about the thighs. Will beef 'em a notch and define the muscles a bit more. Will have a look at the knee cap as well. You are right about the fat vs muscular. I seriously need to make up my mind here :)

phrenzy84 - thanks man. I will definitely play around with the proportions some more. Thanks for the link!

Updates following soon.

my opinion, the squat legs are OK, I agree with pascals comments on the thighs, I think the calves could be beefed up a bit though and personally I think trolls arms should reach to the knees and be beefier too. The heads great but it looks like the bodys a bit clean it could be gnarlier. Keep it coming clap
