Hello everybody,
first time posting here in this wonderful forum, a little bit daunting because there are a lot of artists that i admire here but decided to gather my courage and post anyway
so here goes:

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f310/southparx/d7a4e407.jpg
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f310/southparx/2a1fff0b.jpg
http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f310/southparx/5bd40861.jpg
this is at a early stage where i just got them transposed - so there are a lot of muscles needed adjustment and volume loss - also the style i'm shooting for is something along the line of comic book heroes with exaggerated musculature
I'm really hoping to get critiques and suggestions from everybody here, my goal is to put my 100% effort as I really want to have this as my first 3d-print piece :D
So please share all your thoughts and don't be afraid to be harsh and detailed as needed
Thank you in advance and hope you have a nice day
Cheers,
Andrew

Hi guys,
i wasn't very happy with the kneeling guy coz i felt his pose is too stiff and boring, so i did another version

Hey Andrew, lots of anatomy fun in perspective here :) Cool idea, as far as position goes I prefer the first version. Also it'd be nice to have one of the characters actually getting hit. I think it would make the scene more dynamic if there was an actual impact.

Keep it up!

I don't have any experience with 3D printing but I worry about weight and balance of the physical object you would get from these poses.
I guess the physical printing requires to be very careful about it.

Hi PascalR,
thanks for the image and suggestions,
i decided to go with the blocking guy's hand closer to the body and the kicking leg sticks a large portion, hopefully it will attach stronger when printed
StephaneD,
I never had any either, and i just emailed Ownage, the company that i will go to for the print and expecting feedback - thank you for the heads up
anyways,
the past few days i have been busy accessorizing the two, obviously one guy is still missing his hair, and the clothing sculpt i'm still not 100% sure so i left it at subdiv 3 or something and hoping to get some feedback

Howdy guys,
got some update -
i'm thinking of making the blocking guy top-less haha
i felt having both with the karate 'gi' (uniforms) is kinda repetitive...
besides i could use the unworn uniform laid on the floor for the base,
that could be pretty interesting

Nice update Andrew, the top less version looks good but his right arm from the side view needs some tweaking. The elbow looks too far back and there are some really sharp muscle shapes around this area that could be smoothed out.
Sorry I am running out of time now but will come back to this later,
cheers

Hi guys,
anyways i've got the piece rendered and will consider it finish (at least for the 3D representation but will be fixing the hair for the actual print)

Hi PascalR,
thank you for the comments - sorry it's been awhile since,
you're absolutely right about the arm and i got it fixed and smoothed,
hopefully it looks OK now

I hope you like it and I'd love to hear suggestions to improve myself in next projects :)
Thanks,

Nice renders, it already looks like a 3d print :) The darker skin occlusion painted in the grooves is a bit too strong for my taste and I would have loved to see more visual representations of the impact in the pose (and more dynamically posed hair). But it looks pretty good overall, good job!
