Hi there.
This is my first post in this forum.
My current project is a this kind of nymph of an diving beetle. Not attend the real proportions too much, just going for some nice shapes and colours.

:welcome:fantasymaster!
Just a quick reply for now, the detailing looks good but I would build the tail plates into the topology to get the nice overlapping armor effect like on the picture ref.
cool start!

Thanks for that.
@Oglu: Improved the tail a bit, looks better now. Texture work will be the funniest part!
@PascalR: Really nice suggestion! Did some quick retopo on it. Got some nice silhouette now.

Long time no update here...
Finlay I found some time to improve things. Actually I reworked the whole mesh and added much more details to the base mesh. Just need some UVs and afted that I prefer to put it into mudbox again and give them the rest ;)

looking forward to the update with added separation. Are you gonna add all the little hairs? That's the creepiest part.

Thanks to all the feedback! :bouncy:
Yeah, the detailing and texturing pass will be exciting but also challenging. I think about some sss stuff.
Don't know yet how to solve all the little hairs, but they are quiet important in this case I think.
