Hello there,

This is a good place to put in all my unfinished sketches, sculpts, renderings, whatever.
I hope you will like some of them.

Starting with some old stuff, I think it was 2006
Based on a sculpture from Arturo Balseiro

I think the reason why I´ve never finished this sea turtle, was, that my old computer with zbrush 2.0 crashed all the time. Just too much polys for my old pc, so I´ve stored it on my harddisk, but never continued to work on it ..

A work in progress from last year. The original sculpture is from Mark Newman.
I started to work on the sculpt and textures again, so maybe you´ll find it in the wip thread soon ;)

This one was also for a monthly challenge on the gnomon workshop forums.
The theme was "Jack O´Lantern"
It just took a few days, and to my surprise, it made the 1st place :D

Thanks guys :)

Haven´t done a zbrush doodle quite a while. So, here is a 2hour sculpt out of a sphere. I might come back to it one day, but not for now.

Thanks Pascal :)

I should do more doodles in the future,2d or 3d. I really want to loosen up my style and develop some character designs more quickly. The more the better.
I think I often spend too much time with searching for inspiration and thinking of what I should model next. So, hopefully, this thread will be filled with more sketches soon :)

Hi there.

I´m doing some tests with the vray sss2 shader, inspired by the latest works of some guys here :D

The model is just a doodle and really needs more work.
I try not to use any face foto textures for this and instead just paint and project some alphas.
It´s still very wip, so ignore the seams in my colormaps, which came from the stencil projection : ). I´m just experimenting with the colors and shader

You got an awesome style, all your characters are just filled with personality, really great stuff!

collings: Yeah, I like vray and the new sss shader a lot. Need to do more tests
to get the most out of it.

Storm: Nice to hear that, as this is always my main goal, when I create 3d sculpts.

Thanks for your comments :)

Did these really rough character experiments tonight.Loosly based on the hammerhead from pirates of caribbean. Might be worth to develop this race further,it´s just a first quick concept :D

Oglu: Thanks, glad you like him so far. Yeah I should probably work on the anatomy a little bit more, I was just focusing on shapes rather than the functionality

Storm: Thanks, maybe I will continue to work on him after I ´ve finished my Mueck rendering. I have to finish this first and might come back to this guy later.

One more test, just trying out different faces and also changed the feet.
I´m thinking of doing a scene with different types of this character, could be a lot of fun :)
