Excellent! I love this guy, the forehead details are really nice. Just, the nostril shape at the base of the nose seems a bit strange, but great work Ken
Looking forward to the rendered version :)

-base mesh and UVs work
-create primary form
-secondary form
-tertiary from
-final details
-extraction maps (now)
-painting
-lighting and rendering (or fur? I'm not sure...)

Wow! Thanks for all comments!
I'm just doing rendering test using disp map, but I couldn't use 4K map because of my pc spec..mmm. I want 64bit pc and need more memory!!
Instead using hiRez map, I'm going to use bump/normal map for tiny details.
I'll do a painting work from now for that.

>tonytrout
Thanks :) I checked a lot of references of wrinkles, such as hippo, rhino and of course human portrait and so on.

>Roja
Hey mate! Thanks!! I'm looking forward to seeing your new stuff too!!

>collings
Thanks! I'm doing rendering test now, but I'm not a lighting artist. It's tough works for me, but I'm enjoying it.

>Intervain
Hey! thank you so much!!

>tiktok
yeah, Thanks :) It's kind of hard to render some tiny crisp line..I want more pc power!!

I created two color samples. And I would probably decide to the yellow version because my son(5yo) chose him more than blue. :) Anyway, I'll work toward a finish. Now, I don't have enough time by deadline.
(and these models are not added some final details)

Also I created his eyes like goat, square pupil.

If you have any comments, please let me know!

p.s. Oh! finally I got the "TOP ROW AWARD"!! Thanks Pascal and all!

great update Ken, i personally prefer the blue version but like in your case i'd go with the choice of your kiddo

yeah, Thanks :) It's kind of hard to render some tiny crisp line..I want more pc power!!

don't forget you can use bump map and normal map for the very fine details and to support your displacement map. :)

My 8 year old boy and myself vote for the blue version too ;)
Great stuff, I think what I like in the blue version is the color contrast on the forehead detailing (lighter in the grooves). As Collings said, bump maps will certainly help you here, also to support the fine color detailing, like on the nose for example.

Nice work!

P.

OH my..! actually, I chose the blue version... oh...I can't make up my mind!!
Okay, I decided to create a second blue version. but it needs more paint works I thought.
Thank you for the vote! my son sometimes change his mind, he also loves blue.
And yeah, I'm going to use bump maps, but I can't use hi-rez(4K) because of the limit. Thanks collings, Pascal. will do!

Wow this is impressive sculpting here!! I like both versions but I would have to go with the blue. Either way great job!

Great creature, i really a fan of your your work ! The skin details are very good
Congratulation ;)

Did you use some alpha sculpt or it's all sculpt work for the skin ?

oglu

ken are those paintings done in mud or are these Ps overpaints.?

Ken
24-02-2010, 03:19 AM
I'm doing a fur works on his ear-tip now, but I got a problem when I tried to render...mmm Now, I'll try to fix it from now. no time to do such a fix work!!

>GregStrangis
Thank you for your vote! I chose a blue one! I love your work too :)

>matic
Thank you for your kind words! Yeah, I use some alpha when I create skin tissues. but generally, we shouldn't use any alphas until working final details.
It would be cheap details, I thought.

>oglu
Hey, Thanks man! his texture was made by only mudbox painting tools, no ps.
I usually don't use ps, but when it need to change the color balance and so on, I sometimes use it.

Hey Kenichi
its all looking great, i tend to prefer the first color sheme as I find the blue one less original, but I'm shure you will come up with something great right after

Looks great! I agree with the shading comments, but your model looks beautiful. You should upload your turntable on youtube and post the link here, it would make it easier for people to watch.
