Hi guys
I have found long female hair to be one of the most frustrating technical problems for me, so I recently purchased shave and a haircut to see if it would be a solution for me. So far I'm not having much luck with the spline hair so any pointers would be appreciated.

My problem is that I cannot get the shave hair to conform to the build curves i have constructed. Shaves guide hairs seem to be interpolated on the curves and no matter how I increase the segment count(or display count) the guide hairs never go above about 14 spans, even if the hair segments increase. In other words the shave hair follows the guide construction rather than conforming close to the build curves. So the hair flattens at the root right where you want it to curve over gracefully from a parting. (see attached image) Anybody know how to expose the guide hair construction settings?

My solution is to use a lot of build curves (several thousands), a lot of shavenodes (less than 50), small hair count (about a hundred) in each node. Then the resulting hair will conform to your build curves quite closely. This is the only way you can actually do styling like this

Hi CGRiders, thanks for reply. Like your styling example. I haven't had time to check out your plugin, but its purpose is to handle the large number of nodes? Some text or voiceover in the video would help for understanding what you are doing there. :)

Yes. It would generate large number of nodes from NURBS patches which model the hairstyle.

From my experience in using Shave, having too many shave nodes slows everything down.:(

Tony: It comes down to the Frizz, Kink, and some Multi-Strand settings
should be turned to ZERO. You should see the strands snap to the profile shape of the curve. And I guess from there you can then dial up some of
those settings for effect. Shave settings are tend to be sensitive!!
