Hello, I've been asked by a client to produce a purple puppy sprinkled with glitter. I can use Lightwave or 3dsmax for the render. Does anybody have a suggestion on how to get a really nice glitter surface effect in LW? or 3dsmax?

I think Maxwell has some shaders in the online library that looks exactly like what you are after actually.

Thanks for the Maxwell tip. I am happy to say the above model and image satisfied the client. What I created for the glitter effect was a black and white "glitter map" of specs/flakes. The flakes being white, and background black. Then I applied that map to the specular/reflective/glossy channels of the surface in Lightwave. This way I get high speculative and reflective quality just where the white glitter flakes are. It works pretty well. The glitter flakes sparkle and shine as the model rotates in a well-lit scene.

By the way the model was created in lightwave and zbrush, then rendered in lightwave.
