I haven't used it yet, but have seen some fairly decent results from it. I'm considering testing it out but I'd like to hear what people who have used it think. what are the pros and cons of the software? what do you really like and what is holding it back?

I just started playing with this last night...and so far its amazing! The feedback from tablet to screen is nice and quick. Voxels are SO much better than anything else. Makes me wonder why everyone went the other high subD route? They are totally freeing. You can sculpt a head, then keep adding onto it! Add a body, arms, fingers, whatever. Some of the tools, like the muscle tool kick the crap out of the zsphere armature thing. Really feels like traditional sculpting. Nice and simple.
Also, the topology tools are quite nice too. They added what nex does, topogun...etc. Not too bad.
Haven't tried to bake any maps yet, but from a sculptural point, I think this is going to be my standard way of starting a model.
It so nice to work for once and not think worry about topology whatsoever.

Great sculpting tool, the more I use it the better I like it. Great freedom for designing stuff, a good amount of tutorial vids online to explain the different brushes. This being said I have only tested the voxel sculpting part and there are still few things that need to be polished.
The first thing to add is the ability to go up and down in the resolution levels. Right now you can only increase the resolution of the voxel and there is no going back. Also I asked Andrew about having an option for the smooth brush so that it is behaving like if it was dealing with polygons. Right now if you smooth a cylinder crashing into a bigger surface, the 2 objects will start disconnecting at some point, instead of just smoothing out the intersection.
You can take a look at Andrea's thread, he is also commenting on 3dcoat:

I need to find time to test the retopo and texturing tools as I've heard a lot of good things about them.
To me testing 3dcoat was never a wate of time.

I'd really be interested to see what kind of results people are getting on the texture-painting side of things. Has anyone used it for painting much?
